How is Foamglas® Insulation Made?
Foamglas® is exactly as it sounds. It’s a cellular foam insulation material created out of recycled, molten glass.
It has a closed cellular structure where each cell shares its walls with neighboring cells, and there are no gaps from one cell to the next where air or moisture can pass through. This type of structure is ideal for applications where the threat of water and moisture ingress is high.
Foamglas® is a registered trademark owned by Owens Corning since their acquisition of Pittsburgh Corning was finalized in June of 2017.
